It All Starts With A Sip
Maybe the only way we can discover who we’re meant to be is by stepping out of our comfort zone.
Moving to Greenville had always been the plan when we first talked about venturing to somewhere new.
It was terrifying and exhilarating, and I went through the entire alphabet of emotions on the 13 plus hour drive. On that trip I realized just how much I missed home, which only added to the melancholy I was feeling.
When we got there it was raining. At least it wasn’t below negative 30 with windchill, but it was still not the warm welcome of the south that I had been hoping for.
So to try and get more accustomed to this new place we now called home, my husband had suggested we take a family outing downtown.
“It’s apparently the most beautiful part of the city. Come on. It’ll be fun!”
“Yeah right,” I thought to myself. “What could be so great about downtown?”
We packed the kids into the car and headed out. We came from the outside of the city so we didn’t see the main part, and the drive in wasn’t too unpleasant. He found a parking garage that has free parking on the weekends and we found a spot no problem, since it was the winter.
When we emerged from that parking garage, we came to a courtyard. In front of my path was a small sign, with the most beautiful chalk drawn Christmas tree I’ve ever seen and the words,
Come Warm Up With Our Christmas Specials!
I turned my head and saw a large M above a doorway. And inside the all glass building was the most unassuming coffee shop I had ever seen.
